Many people resign themselves to the idea that “this is just how it is.” But you’re here because you know that’s not the case. You just need a bit of support and direction in getting there. But how?
We took a hard look at the difference between people who live a life they love and people who don’t, and we’ve discovered something alarming. The first step… the most important idea in changing your life… is almost always completely overlooked by life coaches, motivational speakers, friends giving advice… everyone.
The only way to even begin to make lasting changes is to let yourself make those changes. The first step to changing your life, that most important idea, is called permission. And we want to help you find it, feel it and believe it for yourself.
It’s possible that even just hearing the words, “You have to give yourself permission,” can shift your mindset instantly. However, it’s just as likely that you hear that sentence and think, “Yeah, must be nice.”
But we’ve found that the majority of people, regardless of their situation, can drastically change things in their life by understanding the concept of permission, but have never been taught how. If that sounds woo-woo to you, let me rephrase: changing your life is all about mindset. The thing that holds us back the most is ourselves. Cliche? It’s true. When we grant ourselves permission to change, the real magic starts happening. Let us show you how.

With no expectations but to embark on a new journey with the two of you at the helm and others in the boat with me, I found the material, both written and video, very thought provoking. It elicited deep thinking, as was its intention, and a couple of 'Ah ha!' moments. The questions are not for the faint of heart! I think that if anyone enrolls thinking that this is going to be a bit of fluff is in for an awakening!
Work this program, friends, and don't let 2/3 of your life pass by and do nothing. Clarity began for me around age 19 when I realized that I had the freedom to choose what I wanted to do. I had no resources for college and no encouragement to try. I settled for the workplace then marriage and motherhood and denied my true sexuality for the next 47 years. Well, here I am finally living the dream of permitting myself to be myself. Clarity has come in many stages with many experiences.
Beautiful songs - I listen to them quite a lot. I lost both my parents a long time ago, but up until this course I found it hard to let them go. I've found the strength to move on, I have also lost my job, but now it's time for me to live my life; new job, new place to live, maybe even find love for the first time. How is the course structured?
At the beginning of every week, you’ll get a 20-30 minute teaching video to watch that will go into detail about the week’s theme and really get your brain working, including an exclusive Weekly Challenge. You’ll also then be prepped for the journal/thinking prompts to go deeper into understanding who YOU are. Then, at the end of the week, we’ll have a LIVE where we discuss the Weekly Challenge, Lisa and I go through the workbook exercises with the group, answering the prompts personally so you can see some viewpoints other than your own, and also talk about any topics that came up for you during the week.
How is this season different from the previous seasons of the Permission course?
Fall is all about the balance of light and dark, changes, and slowing down so we are really focusing on that during this season. What that means for you is that while winter is about going inward and self reflection and spring is about planting seeds and summer is all about actually doing the things, fall is one big wrap up. This is the season where you slow down, reflect on all that has happened, ground yourself at the place where you are now so you can really celebrate the present. It’s the time to slow down and love on yourself!
Will you two be teaching it?
Yes! We’ll be the ones in the teaching videos as well as interacting directly with you and the other students in the FB group and FB Lives.
How is the course laid out?
The course is broken up into five different segments that we will cover over a six week period (one segment per week with a catchup week in the middle).
What if I don’t want to be in the Facebook Group?
We’ve noticed that there are two different types of people; Facebook community people and non-Facebook community people. There’s a lot of awesome interaction and magic that happens on the Facebook page, but if it’s not for you that’s totally fine! You will still get a TON out of the videos and exercises.
How much time does the course take per week?
If you watch the video, do the exercises, and come to the LIVE, you’re looking at about two and a half hours per week and more if you’d like. That said, every subject is designed to implement directly into your life and so we hope that while the active work time is around two and a half hours, you’ll be constantly thinking about and working towards making change in your life every day, throughout the day.
What if I don’t have the time to watch the videos?
You can always listen to them while you are doing chores or on a walk, but we understand that things come up. So if you’re worried about getting behind, know that you will have access to these video for as long as we are holding this course. So if time is a little tight for you now but you still want access to the material, you can finish up anything you missed when the course ends.
Are the course videos anything like your YouTube Videos?
They are! They are essentially longer, better researched, more thoughtfully prepared, more intimate versions of the YouTube videos you love.
How will the music be delivered?
With the course you’ll get five live performance music videos (similar to the ones on YouTube) of the Fall songs. When we are ready to release the studio recorded Fall album, that will be digitally sent to your email. Both the music videos and the studio album are included in the purchase price of the Permission: Fall online course.
How long is the course?
The course runs for six weeks. It has five weeks worth of content with a catchup week in the middle.
Understandable! It’s quite a big committment to make. But you’ve read this far because something has resonated with you. If it’s change you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.
Can I do this course with a partner or friend?
Absolutely! Your relationship will deepen as you go go through the course together. If they would like access to the FB group, they’ll have to enroll themselves.
The Permission Story:
When Lisa first started making music, she got a lot of attention quickly. Soon she was playing at big festivals and getting the attention of record execs, but record labels kept telling her who she should be and how she needed to write if she ever wanted to be ‘successful.’
The thing was, she didn’t vibe with who they wanted her to be all the time. Yes, sometimes she gave off a happy blonde pop girl vibe, but other times she played slow and sensitively. Other times turned into a rocker. She was never able to throw herself fully into the pop girl they wanted, so interest from record labels dropped as a result. Ultimately, it made her feel like she wasn’t good enough, interesting enough, pretty enough, and a whole bunch of other ‘enoughs’ that we all identify with when we don’t feel like we are living up to other people’s standards. After this, Lisa stopped releasing new music.
The music was inside her though. She started writing what she wanted to write, finding the permission to create from herself instead of waiting for someone else to give it to her. That changed her view, not just on music, but her whole life. She started seeing ways she was holding herself back; from small things like smiling at a stranger to big things like standing up for herself. But as soon as that light switch flicked on, she was able to take control of her life in a new way.
She started seeing the positive effects spill out onto the people who spent time around her and how it changed their life for the better. That’s when she decided to guide others who wanted to find their own permission. She had a dream to create an album of original music with an accompanying online course to help listeners form relationships with the music and integrate it in their lives in a new intersection between art and self-care. Thus, the Permission Experience was born.
