Come home to yourself in the quiet season.
Permission is an album in four seasons that invites you to live without restriction. To excavate the gems of your inner life. To radically express all sides of you, no matter what other people say or think.
Happy pop girl or melancholy indie girl?
News flash: I’m both.
So are you.
A few years ago, I got frustrated when trying to write songs for the major labels. The A&R’s always told me that I changed too much in between the songs and they weren’t able to label me as the happy pop girl or the sad, melancholy indie artist. This took a huge toll on my confidence, and my frustration grew as I tried to force myself into a mainstream, consistent voice as an artist.
This album was born when I finally stopped letting the pressure to create a mainstream voice to please industry execs dictate what music I write and instead, followed the feelings in my body.
This album is your permission slip to let go of labels, make choices that set you free, and love all your seasons, inner and outer. Ecstasy, grief, delight, rage and every shade of emotion in between. It’s a love letter to personal power and the life-giving magic of change. More than anything, it’s a rally cry for people to experience freedom of expression. The howl that – when put in the air – helps you connect with the people who love you exactly as you are.
Permission will be released in 4 parts – Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.
The Winter album includes downloadable music made during the winter season and also during Lisa’s bleeding phase. It explores themes like honesty, exploring your darker sides without judgment, self-reflection, and letting go.
Winter – whether you’re referring to the cold season outside or you’re facing a challenge in life that’s forcing you to slow down – offers powerful transformation, healing, and comfort. The quiet seasons are the times you release what no longer serves you. Find clarity in the stillness. Receive support and warmth from others. Winter is when you come home to yourself.
Please note this is a digital album, meaning the music will be downloadable!
